Hello everyone,
can someone answer off the cuff which construction method is the most cost-effective for a non-residential basement, i.e. a normal storage, hobby, craft basement.
We will do everything entirely as a DIY project, so only the material costs are decisive.
(I am leaving out pre-fabricated basements because you can’t do anything yourself there without a crane)
It’s not just about comparing the bricks, but the entire wall structure including, if applicable, waterproofing slurry, insulation, plaster, etc.
according to KFW55.

Maybe someone has already faced the same decision and has an overview.
Architects only compare INCLUDING the labor service, but not material-only, because they say hardly anyone wants to do the masonry themselves nowadays.

Looking forward to feedback.

I would actually only compare stones. The wall structure is the same everywhere - sealing, insulation, etc. And therefore also the price.

If I had to choose, I would go for sand-lime planed stones. Depending on your equipment, even in large format, fully planned (it's like a puzzle since each stone has its fixed place).

First of all, the 11ant basement rule > "With or without a basement: a rule as a decision-making tool" can answer the question of whether a basement is even advisable for your property. Why do you want to include the pure utility basement in the "thermal envelope"? Even if the basement is not "damp", I would avoid Ytong for the exterior walls; however, for the interior walls I would definitely prefer it as a hobby mason. We can certainly give you more valuable tips for your basement if you show the house under which it is to be built. So far, we don’t know your project at all. Generally, I would recommend having a possible basement (see above) planned by the architect.
