Hi,

we have completed the 1:100 preliminary design and I need a structural engineer for the calculation of the approval statics, ceiling thickness, and roof truss.

My question: What information does the structural engineer need for the calculation, besides the 1:100 plans of the single-family house? Do I already have to specify what kind of bricks we want to use for the masonry?

Many thanks
M

Hello,
among many other things, that was one of the pieces of information we had to provide to our structural engineer.

You will also have to clarify many details that the structural engineer will bring up with you or your architect. But the design plans were the most important. If you have a [Bodengutachten], he will ask about it as well.

So you are working with a draftsman; ideally an architect?

Neither of them knows which documents need to be submitted to the structural engineer?!?

Soil report, structure + thickness of the exterior walls, material of interior walls if different, ceiling thickness + material, window specifications and scaled plans.

Thank you for the feedback. The architect has a structural engineer at hand, but I would like to obtain a separate offer.

Then call your favorite and he will tell you which documents he needs. Why always so complicated when it can be simple Rheinian greetings
