Hello everyone,

soon the ground floor ceiling will be poured and our electrician asked me where the PM should be positioned. Unfortunately, the electrician is somewhat slow and I don't want to rely solely on his opinion, even though his team has already done many KNX implementations.

I have given it some thought and would like to put this up for discussion here and hope for your input. I created the light green circles to provide a rough indication of detection. I am aware that it does not go through walls, but unfortunately I do not have a suitable program to visualize it differently.

The presence detector to be used is the MDT SCN-P360K4.03
1 presence detector, detection upon entering, in the cloakroom area and when coming down the stairs
2 presence detector, presence in the office
3 presence detector, presence in the guest WC
4 presence detector, positioned so that it does not detect movement in the hallway, only in the area leading to the living room
5 presence detector, detection mainly in the dining area
6 presence detector, detection only in the kitchen area
7 motion detector in the pantry/utility room

What do you think of the positioning?

Best regards.

A few quick notes:
A PIR will probably not work well in the living room.
I have an HF (TP) there, which works very well for me.

The PM you chose actually has 4 zones.
Your placement often looks more like a one-zone PM.
Not bad, but it could be used better.
For example, in the dining room in the middle to be able to distinguish areas.

Where are the PMs for the wardrobe and storage room?

PM in the office behind the back is not ideal.

Thank you for the initial input.
The 4 zones are correct, I didn't have that in mind.

[*]For the wardrobe PM, I want to use the PM (1) which is at the front door/stairs. The detection should be sufficient.
[*]So I could put the PM over the door in the office and deactivate the hallway. Then I have detection at the desk sideways which should be better but not every movement with the door open will trigger the PM if no one is in the office.
    [*]...
[*]Is one PM enough for the living-dining area?
[*]Is one PM enough for the living-dining area?
    [*]...
[*]... For the storage room camera I only wanted to use one motion detector, I think that is sufficient.

In the hallway, alternatively possibly work with MDT BWM55 on the wall at level 1. It would have the charm that you could also switch the stair light going upstairs at the same time. In the living area, one centrally for zoning. In the office, it is questionable whether you even need a presence detector there if you only sit statically anyway and have a central ceiling outlet – I would skip it. How does it look upstairs? Also consider KNX smoke detectors. They partly compete with presence detectors. At least recommended in the hallway (escape route).

I have reconsidered the position with your input more closely and also taken the zones into account. The current status looks as follows. I would deactivate "Red".
