Hey,

if you want to install a PoE access point on the ceiling, the prerequisite is an existing LAN cable. Does this end of the cable get a regular network plug, which is then plugged into the access point, or does it get a socket and the socket is connected to the access point's socket using a short patch cable? Is it correct that with an existing PoE switch, only the LAN cable from the ceiling is needed, so no power supply that would have to be somehow installed within the ceiling construction?

Thanks!

I had to learn that these field-terminable RJ45 connectors, which are attached to a patch cable, are too bulky and do not fit into our APs (UAP AC Pro). Therefore, keystone modules are used, to which a mini patch cable is then connected.

Ah, all clear. Basically like in a network socket but without plastic around it.

Is it sufficient if the cable comes directly out of the ceiling, attach the Keystone module, and the access point sits above the outlet?
Or other variants?

Exactly the same But it's best if you install a device mounting box (drywall or flush-mounted). You need the space in the box to properly accommodate the Keystone module.

I should have done that too. It's getting tight for me.

Ok. Understand.
Thought that the space under the access point would be enough for that, as seen with some. But then with a box.
