Plastering the interior in a new building or applying painter's fleece directly?

Hi everyone,

we are currently in the middle of the shell construction and are talking to stakeholders regarding interior plastering. We have received 2 offers (1 x with lime gypsum and 1 x with lime cement base plaster).

Price-wise, both slightly blow me away.

We would like the walls and ceiling completely white and preferably very smooth, so without much texture.

Now I have also seen the painter's fleece on the internet.

How do I apply the fleece to the walls? Is a base plaster sufficient and then the fleece directly on top? What is cheaper for me? Plastering everything or working with the fleece?

I would really appreciate your input!

You definitely need the interior plaster, no matter what comes on the wall.

1st option: Choose a high quality level and simply paint
2nd option: Choose a medium quality level, apply painter's fleece, and then paint

Both are not cheap

So always base coat and the top coat?
Base coat and then fleece on it is not possible?

Hello, before the painter's fleece is glued, the walls must be just as smooth as when only painting, because all unevenness will show through. The fleece only has the advantage of bridging small hairline cracks.

Why don't you use gypsum plaster?

I'm not very familiar with the plastering topic yet..
You can make plaster completely smooth, right?
Maybe this wasn't offered because cracks could possibly form, right?

The common standard plaster is a gypsum plaster, which is white. Cracks only occur there due to incorrect mixing ratios. It is usually plastered once, i.e., applied, smoothed, and floated. It is then very smooth if the stucco has something on top of it.
