Hello everyone, I have a wall in my basement that I would like to cover, so far you can see the bricks. Would it be better to plaster it or is it easier if I put drywall panels on it? Which requires less work and costs less?

I do believe that plastering takes more time, but I plastered my basement anyway, because it all looks neat and good then.

Hello, plastering is initially more effort but it is worth it because it looks much nicer. Also, the room becomes smaller if you install a drywall, because you first have to make a substructure from battens for that. Plastering creates more mess but looks better.

A wall that is plastered simply looks better, and it's not as difficult as it sounds. Sure, it makes more mess, but afterwards it looks nicer than a [Rigips] wall. You can also hardly hang anything on it, you always have to use special anchors.

Good day,
even a drywall makes work and mess, because the battens that go underneath also have to be drilled onto the wall first. In addition, gaps form between the panels and you have to fill those with putty. If that is not done properly, it is always visible. I would also rather plaster!

There are also adhesives or setting plaster, I think that's what it's called, with which you can firmly glue the boards.
Drywall is certainly easier, plastering looks better...
