Thank you very much for your thoughts on this topic. However, for me it was primarily about the problem of settlement cracks. How the wall is designed, whether smooth or with wallpaper, depends on individual taste. In our case, the plasterers did an exceptionally good job in my opinion. According to the contract, it is only Q2, but there are no waves, and it does not need to be fully smoothed out. Occasionally there is a small blemish, which they even want to repair where someone accidentally bumped into it, and then you could even leave it like that and paint over it. In terms of taste, I tend to prefer fine felt plaster. I would only use fleece because of the cracks.

You said it, if you use high-quality fleece and not just any old stuff and the painter is not clumsy... then the wall looks wonderfully smooth... with a Q2 substrate...

I have a completely different opinion on that as well. But apparently, the quality standards differ significantly here when I read that homeowners want Q2 painting or completely forego wallpaper. That's not for me.

Do not paint but glue onto Q2 fleece and then paint... I can take a picture tonight...

Paint Q2 and without wallpaper or fleece it looks like a construction site...
