Good to know. I hadn’t even considered that it could destroy the path. My concern was that [Hangmann] wouldn’t have to clear the trail twice a year.

If you train the shoots of the [Blauregen] on the wire, you also don't have to cut anything. They are still quite flexible up to a length of about 2m. This is done in a few minutes while passing by.

Then I'll maybe take him if the Rambler doesn't want to next year. He's my problem child and isn't growing as he should. Probably the wrong location.

More the side wall and also a bit beyond the downpipe. It doesn’t have to be significantly higher than the basement. To me, it’s too bare at the moment and the monotonous surface makes the house look quite massive. Clematis with a trellis could work since I can clearly define the area for growth. But I’m really not a professional.

I also find clematis pretty. But I know them more with the flowers mostly at the top and the branches rather bare...
What about espalier fruit? Kiwi or fig? What temperatures do you have over there?
Or a vine?
