Hello,

we actually have wall-to-wall carpet throughout the hallway because we find it warmer.
Now this carpet wears out more on the walking paths than at the edges.
So we laid a runner carpet, a kind of runner, down the middle.
But it doesn’t stay in place and keeps shifting.
Then we attached it with tape. But now it wrinkles because it still wants to shift.
Do you have any idea?

Best regards Gerda

Hello Gerda,

we had that too, but in the living room. No matter what we tried, there was always a wrinkle that grew bigger day by day. In the end, we even bought new carpet and re-covered the entire room. The frequently used areas looked terrible, but we also didn't want to accept the wrinkle from the carpet that was on top of it.

We had a coconut runner on the carpet years ago. It lay quite well and did not slip. This coconut runner could withstand quite a bit.

That, of course, does not look very nice after some time since the walking surfaces get more worn. We had the problem under the living room table. We then fixed the carpet with such a special adhesive.

I did it that way too, this glue is good and the carpet can no longer slip here. Especially under the tables, this is a good option.

We also have carpet runners in the hallway, and here I see our tracks. I want to express with this that the carpet runner is worn out in these spots. I like the tip about the coconut runner, and I will try that.
