This will be funny. Presumably, the entire floor covering got soaked. We had that once in the rental apartment too, water was being pushed in from the balcony door and we noticed it when the water rose up through the parquet from below. I found it quite amusing because it was to be expected. The gutter above the balcony kept overflowing because it was wrongly dimensioned and rarely cleaned. The drain on the balcony was garbage too, it was located at the highest point. There was no emergency overflow. Then we had ants in the room, coming from the direction of the balcony door, they must have chewed their way through there. Nobody in the management cared and we had to fend for ourselves. A year later, the water was standing in the place. Too bad that in the end, surely an insurance paid out (which I paid via additional costs), instead of the actual perpetrators.
