I found quite a lot of such grains today. They look very pretty, pearly pink.. They seem to come from some kind of plant, but which one? I also wonder if they might come from horse manure? Like some kind of grain that the horses ate? However, they are scattered around, not just near the horse manure or a specific plant or shrub. I look forward to your feedback!

have you ever picked one apart?
at first glance, they look like berries from some bushes to me.

Ivy, jewelweed, etc. Their seeds can look like this after being digested by birds. I would now exclude pink-colored wheat grains aka rat poison.

Thank you for your answers!
when squeezing the pink skin comes off and this brown seed appears. ,
Nope, doesn’t look like wheat either, and in our garden it would be extremely unlikely
Do birds really poop something like this out? Completely clean and bright? 0_0

Hello
We have also had exactly these grains or seeds or whatever they are on our garden terrace for some time now.
We collect them every day. Sometimes it's 5, sometimes 3, varying each day.
At first, we suspected that it might be rodent poison.
We have absolutely no explanation where it could have come from or what it is.
We took the grains to a large plant wholesaler, where no one could help us either.
They even sent the grains to Bayer and Compo!!
But even they don't know what it is.

We are going to go crazy with these grains!!

Regards, Chris

Hello,

at our old house we often had thousands of these seeds, always directly under the decades-old meter-high ivy, which year after year bore endless fruit and was visited by many birds, especially blackbirds.

The "pink seeds" come via the detour of the bird digestive tract directly from the ivy.

By the way, there are many other people who also cannot assign the seeds and raise the alarm. Unfortunately, no links may be posted here, but if you search on Google for "seed find alarm kindergarten," you will come directly to a corresponding press article.

Best regards

Axel
