Hello,
we are currently in the final phase of building our house.
The wall structure consists of 17.5 cm Poroton, mineral wool, and facing bricks.
After the work on the facing facade in the base area all around, Styrodur boards were installed on our house down to a depth of about 80 cm. This was also done in the entrance area and at the terrace doors.
The site management stated that this procedure is necessary to protect the masonry from rising moisture.
I myself have not seen this construction method before and now find it difficult to imagine, for example, how one can sensibly build an entrance platform on a solid foundation or create an eaves strip around the house.
I also have an appointment with a construction expert next Monday but would like to ask the forum for advice in advance.
Unfortunately, I have not succeeded in uploading the pictures. The pictures are apparently always too large, even though they are already <1 MB. Does anyone have any tips here?
Best regards
