Pave the driveway, carport later - procedure?

Hey,

soon the driveway is going to be paved. At some point, maybe a carport will be built as well. What is the optimal approach? Paving everything first, then opening it up again at the points for the supports of the carport is probably rather counterproductive. Knowing beforehand which carport it will be to plan the points now might be optimal. But depending on when the carport will be built, it might not even happen. So the points would be wrongly placed. Do you have any tips on the best way to proceed?

Additional question: Who uses a carport obtained through e*bay, or maybe bought at a hardware store? Are there any experiences? What should one pay attention to?

Thanks for your feedback!

Experiences with us, simply paving. At the points of the supports, 4 stones can always be removed and driven supports or supports concreted in with an earth auger can be set. There are thousands of carports on the net, just pay attention to the size and height. A Polo needs something different than a motorhome with 8m length and 3.5m height

No, that is common practice. We took a day to install our 12 H-posts. So raise the stones, set them in concrete, and then cut the stones back. Don't forget how much material you have to dispose of with a few holes. The only thing you should do beforehand is to lay one or more power cables accordingly.

I also paved the parking space back then and have now built the carport after 18 years. At that time, I did not plan the foundation.

Unfortunately. But back then I also did not know if it would even be covered at all.

I did it myself. The prefabricated carports from the DIY store were extremely ugly and much too expensive.

Thanks already for your opinions. Actually, I would have thought to have everything paved, then take a few stones out again for the concrete / H-post. Using an earth auger was also my idea. The neighbor said that it is quite a strenuous effort. Especially if the ground under the paving is also compacted, it would be difficult to get through there. Regardless of that, can KG pipes (DN 100?) be used as formwork, where later the concrete will be poured in, or the H post holder?

The location of the posts is not known yet, so do not embed any placeholders in concrete now.

What about rainwater?
Drain openly or already lay a connection near the expected post.
