A friendly "Moin" to everyone here in the forum.

As a new member, I come straight away with a question! We have bought a house and the parquet floor in the living room shows scratches and also damage. If they are not too deep, you can live with it, but these, caused by the previous owner (see photos), are quite unsightly. I am not sure if sanding the parquet is enough. The thickness of the wood might not be sufficient.

Are there other methods to make these damages "invisible"?

Thank you for your effort and I wish everyone a nice Sunday, here from Bad Oldesloe

Klaus

Sanding and oiling or sealing depending on preference. It's best to get someone who knows about it and does it professionally, then it will look like new again.

Thank you Mycraft for the quick response. I have read that the thickness of the P-wood surfaces varies from eight to ten millimeters (even up to 22 mm). I will ask a specialist company for a cost estimate.

Sure, there are numerous layer thicknesses. Without a professional, you won't get anywhere.

Well, if it is not solid wood, the layer thickness will probably be around 4mm! Nevertheless, sanding should normally fix that.
