Painting / varnishing steel stairs, which paint / primer?

I don't really see why one should sand a primer.
Ultimately, it's a stupid step. Anyway: we skipped it, and the paint holds.

Yes, definitely buy the paint there. You only need a relatively small can. We have anthracite; with white, of course, you might need to paint twice.

No need to sand. It just needs to be degreased. Wipe it off before painting with [Nitroverdünnung] or [Spiritus].
