Painting utility room with gypsum plaster - Which color?

after our interior plaster (gypsum plaster) has now dried and the heating engineer has announced his visit soon, I wanted to paint the utility room beforehand. No wallpaper or anything, just painting, so the whole wall with the technology etc. looks "clean."

Which paint should I use? When you look online, you can read everything: with primer, without primer, emulsion paint, emulsion silicate paint... that's more confusing than helpful.

So what is the right procedure? How did you handle it?

I recently had this issue as well. I also sought a lot of advice and read a lot online. In the end, I decided on a pure silicate paint. I primed with silicate primer beforehand.
Whether it was the 100% right decision, I do not know. As you already said, the 100 different opinions are more confusing than helpful.

Utility room? Get something cheap from the hardware store, that's completely sufficient.

Silicate paint does not work on gypsum plaster, I have read. I forgot why.

It may be that the silicification of the silicate paint causes stresses in the plaster that can lead to cracks.

We did it last week. We took the brand with the kitten because it was on sale. And primed with Tiefgrund because the walls are still very absorbent right after plastering.

But don’t make our stupid mistake: Tiefgrund needs to be left to dry for a few hours. On our canister there were usage instructions, but nothing about drying time, so we slapped the paint on right away with raised eyebrows. It looks a bit... weird in some places.
