Painting concrete basement walls and what to do with edge insulation strips?

The nice thing is that at least the surface - even if it is the first attempt - will definitely look better than the bare screed ;-)

Thank you for your trust. I need to think about it again. I just fear that the nasty surprises will come then. Painting is easier at first, as long as the paint does not peel off :D
