Hey,

if it says "Dachuntersicht "Weiß" grundiert", referring to the roof soffit, can you directly apply the final coat on it?

Or is there something special to consider?

Thanks!

Yes, primers are generally used to create a base for painting, varnishing, etc.

An insulating primer is recommended, as wood ingredients may possibly emerge and leave unsightly yellowish stains. This is especially noticeable with a white paint coating.

Remmers Induline 601 was recommended here as the final coat. If I understand correctly, it already contains the primer.

If you can commission the painting directly with the carpentry company, that's great. We did that, and it wasn't expensive either. If a scaffold is up for it, it disappears again so quickly; with us, there wouldn't even have been time for painting. Besides, it's one of those things that is disadvantageous if you want to do it later and then leave it for a while. And working overhead isn't really fun either. I'm glad things seem to be going quite well for you!

Best regards
Gabriele

Is this actually purely a visual matter, or should one do the (Streichen) for preservation reasons?
