Paint the steel staircase yourself or leave it to the painter?

Our paint still adheres excellently - we were told that this is the primer, rust protection

Which is also sensible, since the stairs are usually installed while the construction is still in full swing and there is still a lot of moisture around. I am way too picky to do something like that myself. :D

I recommend Grönemeyer with
"Alcohol is your paramedic in emergency
(Alcohol) is your parachute and your lifeboat"

Instead of sanding the primer, cleaning (dust removal) with isopropanol is sufficient. Please do not drink. ;)

That's also ahead of me. I specifically stocked up on Bosch Blue. Please don't tell my wife that it was unnecessary....

Does anyone actually have before-and-after pictures, possibly with work in progress?
