Hello,

Our walls are plastered with lime gypsum. Is an additional white paint necessary? If yes... Can dispersion paint be used or must it be a silicate paint?

Best regards, andi

Both are possible.

Both ways work. Leaving it raw is not possible. We have the same plaster. In the utility room, I filled it, sanded down the pimples. Twice Sto basic. Without primer. Worked well. Covers. In the kitchen, primer, then had fiberglass glued on, the one with latex. In the other rooms filled, scratched through, pimples gone, silicate paint Sto plaster base filling, in brush plaster technique, now Sto colour light cappuccino with lots of milk comes on top. Nothing made up by myself, execution together with my brother, who is a master painter.
