I am looking for tips on good over-shoes that our craftsmen should wear after laying the floors when they still have to walk around the house. One factor is that around the house everything is still sandy, rocky, and gravelly, and the outdoor facilities do not yet exist.

Thanks for advice!

Our craftsmen brought some themselves. Mostly microfiber covers. We also procured cheap disposable covers. However, these do not last long (one time through the house). Make sure to vacuum the stones in the house. Even with covers, there are traces.

The plan will probably fail in practice due to the discipline of potential overshoe wearers having to take them off and put them back on every time they go in and out. Maybe think more in the direction of classic covering fleece and cardboard?

We also used protective fleece for a while. The problem is that you have to fix it in place and dirt gets trapped underneath. You also have to dispose of it. As long as entire crews don’t have to go through the house, I would rely on shoe covers. Official communication to the trades. Possibly also a mobile camera. With good craftsmen, however, this is not necessary.

I had laid out painter's fleece walkways on the parquet floor. Both sides taped off. Proper dirt mats at the entrance for wiping shoes. Additionally, vacuum regularly (daily) to prevent the small stones that get into the house from spreading further.

Definitely leave all protection in place for the moving company as well. Make sure that boxes, cartons, and furniture are not dragged across the floor!

When we lived inside and the tile was gone, the craftsmen always took off their shoes without being asked. I didn't have to do anything at all. I am realizing more and more how lucky we were/have been.
