Hello,
from old barn and house demolitions I have a few hundred old bricks, which we would like to use in the summer for building a chicken coop. I would rather not use concrete lintels for the openings for doors and windows, as in my opinion that does not fit visually.
Can you tell me what is best to use as a lintel that also roughly fits the time period of the old bricks? In our house we have replaced lots of wooden lintels with concrete during the renovation, which are no longer visible. However, I do not know if wood is a good idea for a building that will not be plastered.
Maybe you have experiences and ideas and want/can help me.
Many thanks and best regards
Felix
