Open-air exposure of wood fiber insulation boards

Hello everyone,

how long are wood fiber insulation boards really weather-resistant? Even the different manufacturers give various specifications, ranging from a few weeks up to 5 months under certain conditions (covering with tarpaulins etc.). What are the consequences if this period is exceeded, or what measures are necessary to have the wood fiber insulation boards installed before winter but only plastered the following spring? Or is this completely inadvisable? What are the experiences? Thank you very much

I would hang a construction foil in front (on the facade). We have fleece-laminated mineral wool boards, which are water-repellent, but in the spots where we hadn't yet stapled on the square mesh, it was very clear that the insulation served birds as nesting material, they simply picked it out. Mice are also interested... if the insulation is exposed, it would probably be torn apart or something would nest inside it. That's why we put square mesh directly on it, then the battens, and additionally insect screens at the top and bottom.

In the meantime, I have received a response from the manufacturers of the wood fiber insulation boards myself. They describe that cut edges must be covered and that the surfaces must be roughened and loose particles removed before plastering.
