Hello,

we have 3 minor questions. Our roof was covered.

1. We noticed that one row of roof tiles is offset. This is in the area below the dormer. It looks as if the shortened tiles under the dormer were simply measured incorrectly. There is an offset there. Do we have to accept this? Are there any guidelines regarding "deviations" or tolerances?

2. In one of the pictures (131530) you can see that there is a gap in the foil at the dormer and you can see the wood. Are there any problems with this? Is this okay?

3. To what extent are the fascia boards (behind the gutters) allowed to be crooked or warped? This is the case with at least two boards. It just doesn’t look very nice visually. Can one object to this?

Many thanks for your tips, experiences, and thoughts

Underlay membranes, also on facades and dormers, must be fixed horizontally with a 10cm overlap. That looks to me like recycling of leftovers. Is there metal in front? Then it probably doesn’t matter because there are no open joints. With wood or slate, water can occasionally get through, but if it’s not the weather side, that’s only theoretical. More interesting here is the wind, which blows in there. More likely to blow in there. I would at least insist on taping with suitable adhesive tape. With today’s craft prices, I would be ashamed to deliver something like that instead of spending two euros on 2 meters of foil, despite the subordinate role of the underlay membrane here.

I can’t say anything about the tolerance with the tiles. Technically it should be irrelevant, the overlap is even larger.

Maybe the wind boards will still be screwed onto the boards of the sub-roof and smoothed out? That would be my recommendation now.
