Official building inspection by the building authority? (Baden-Württemberg)

Hello everyone,

we are about to complete our single-family house and now wonder whether an official building inspection by the municipal building authority generally takes place? Or do we have to notify the building authority of the completion at some point so that they can explicitly come by? We are building in Baden-Württemberg.

Of course, we have adhered to all the things stipulated in the development plan (and there were quite a few :rolleyes, only the extensive green roofing of the garage has not yet been done. As is the case for 90% of all houses here in the new development area, some of which have already been standing for several years.

Is there a bigger problem if they come by at some point, or can that still be implemented later? Or do they usually never come by anyway?

In the state building regulations, such reporting obligations are (partially?) regulated, for example:

Building condition notifications, commencement of use

(1) 1The building supervisory authority may require that the commencement and completion of certain construction work be reported to it. 2Construction work may only be continued once the building supervisory authority has approved the continuation of the construction work.

(2) The builder must notify the building supervisory authority of the intended commencement of use of a non-exempt structural facility at least two weeks in advance.

(3) 1A structural facility may only be used once it itself, access roads, water supply and wastewater disposal as well as communal facilities are safely usable to the required extent, but not before the date specified in paragraph 2. 2Fireplaces may only be put into operation once the authorized district chimney sweep has certified the suitability and safe usability of the flue gas systems. 3Internal combustion engines and combined heat and power plants may only be put into operation once he has certified the suitability and safe usability of the lines for the discharge of combustion gases.

I had the completion on my radar (even if nothing about it is stated in our building permit). But does the surveyor really have to come again for that (including costs)?
