Hello,

Thanks for the additional info!

Then it will probably either be the case that the builder does not have in-house employed draftsmen and has to purchase this service; not uncommon for smaller builders. Or he sees a greater opportunity to win the contract by pricing in the quote phase. I assume that the costs of the quote will be reimbursed if the contract is awarded.

A difficult decision that only you can make yourself. If you like the builder’s overall package, and from your perspective the chances are good that he will also get the final contract, I would see no rational reason against making a payment. If you are still unsure and want to compare further, then I would initially refrain from doing so.

Rhenish greetings

Sort out and done. As has already been written here, there are more than enough providers on the market.

Hello dear ones

As you have already responded, we have decided to remove this BU from our list.
We would not have thought that something like this is common. We have now been somewhat better informed.
Fortunately, there are still many other providers.

Thank you for your statements

It depends on how detailed the offer should be. An initial catalog printout, with some planning details for the construction, should be free, but if the customer already wants a precise planning, they should also pay for this "service." In our case, if we wanted to be more precise, the planning would have been charged, which would have been settled upon signing the contract.

Hello Der Da

We have sent all our ideas including the site plan so that we can receive an offer to compare with the other BUs.
We only wanted to go into detail once we have made a decision.

Hello,

there are also plenty of reputable providers who show almost angelic patience with the prospective builders.

Our construction company made a total of four (free) plan adjustments to the plans before we signed a contract.

Sure, the optimizations got smaller with each change, but it was still work every time. Our sales consultant really accompanied us very patiently until the "contract maturity" (and even now – after the contract signing).

In the end, we also "rewarded" the company with the work contract that offered us the best support and advice, although there were far cheaper offers.

Regards,

Dirk
