Hello dear community,

We are starting to build our house in spring. Brick solid!
However, the basement is supposed to be concrete. Now we have received the first offers for prefabricated basements and I was completely taken aback! The offer is as follows:
Basement outer walls 12 x 11 m
36,000 euros plus floor slab 11,000 euros.
Without excavation, without windows, without partition walls, without stairs (will be poured entirely on site with us), etc...

That is completely overpriced, isn't it? Do you know providers who have a better price-performance ratio? Is there an overview of all companies somewhere??

Many thanks

Matches the offers we have received. If the [Weiße Wanne] is also needed, you quickly reach €50,000. There is a reason why many now do without a basement.

do it yourself, then you save
Construction prices have really shot up, it's because of the low interest rates. When interest rates go up, prices will go down again.
All companies have full order books and can choose prices however they like. As a customer, you only have: take it or leave it.

After 3 quotes, we decided against a basement and preferred to make the house above bigger. There's also the attic, and the garage will get an extension someday... That will be our basement, and overall it's still much cheaper.

And you don't really need a basement nowadays. Heating technology is small, and otherwise it's just stuff standing around that you don't dare to throw away.

Well, we will have a pellet heating system and need a storage room for it, and we definitely want a basement. We can't expand any further upstairs because of the development plan.

What do you think of Ziegelkeller? My husband doesn't want to at all, but you can always get some information.
