Obtain quotes from construction companies

I didn't feel like taking care of everything myself, so I hired a general contractor [GU] to do everything. It was also important to me that I only have one [ASP] for warranty issues, my [GU]. I didn't want the trades to shift the blame back and forth later.

Turnkey construction: House finished... money transferred... general contractor doesn't want to know anything anymore.....

Of course, everyone has to decide that according to their personal circumstances, clearly building turnkey saves a lot of stress...... but unfortunately it is too expensive for us

And since we can do quite a bit ourselves, it is stressful for us - but also a cost-saving factor

We only want to have the earthworks, the shell construction, and the roof truss done. Heating/plumbing most likely through my uncle, and we will do the rest ourselves/ or with our little helpers.

That's clear, but my husband comes from the construction industry.....and we are considering whether we want to afford a building surveyor. Although this person would only have to inspect up to the shell construction, since we can't really shoot ourselves in the foot

OK, if your husband has experience in the field of construction supervision, then everything is fine. But why should an expert inspect up to the shell construction?
