Not dismantling the oil heating after all?

Application

Hello,

I wanted to install a heat pump and remove the oil heating, so I would then receive the subsidy. The application for this is already approved, but not fully completed yet, as the heat pump has not been installed.

Now I am considering simply leaving the oil heating in place and using it for the cold winters, and everything else with the heat pump, basically then "hybrid" with renewable energies. There is also a subsidy for that, right? Can I still change the application and do it this way? Or is it too late for that? Would I have to submit a completely new application? Can I continue to use the old boiler with such an application, or would it have to be replaced as well?

Thank you very much

I cannot say anything about the applications. However, consider/calculate whether double maintenance, double troubleshooting, etc. are worth it just to bridge the very cold days.

At least for this winter, let her run and see where the path leads.

Will you even get the heat pump before winter? If not, then you can see where the energy journey goes after winter.

Besides the maintenance for the oil heating system, you also still have the chimney sweep, which you no longer need with a heat pump.

Anyone who is only now thinking about the heat pump definitely won't get it before spring 2023. At least not if you get the heating system in the usual way through an installer with whom you are neither related nor have been friends since kindergarten.

And here we are again at:
Don't sign a contract now at an absurd price, but wait and see how the prices (electricity, gas, oil, heat pumps) develop.
Because if the kWh of electricity suddenly costs 60 cents or more in 2023, the heat pump won't be much use anymore...
