A wireless doorbell would initially not be a problem. However, the "replacement," meaning doorbell+gong with batteries, is intended. After all, in a new building you don’t want to be reminded to change the batteries in the gong or doorbell, right?

Oh god. If that’s your only problem. How often do people ring your doorbell that you expect to have to change them constantly? How do you handle it with the smoke detectors?

How long does such a battery-powered doorbell/bell combination last until the next battery change? It should last quite a long time.

Depending on what kind of batteries are inside. The usual zinc button cells can also fail after 1-2 years even without use.
