Dear forum,
I hope to support my decision-making process in this way regarding the installation of a new heating system.
Current situation
1- 2-family house, solid construction, built in 1960
Heating through night storage heaters, night tariff
Completely new windows in 1993, double glazing.
Full thermal insulation of facade and roof in 2005.
Shutters were renewed at the same time, now externally mounted or venetian blinds.
However, the house is not inhabited but used as an office building (Monday-Saturday).
Hot water is therefore used only sparingly, for hand washing or cleaning. This is done by small boilers (a total of 3).
Due to the insulation carried out in 2005, the heating demand has also decreased significantly, about 50% less night electricity.
Most rooms have a PC and various other electrical devices that generate a certain basic warmth. In some rooms, heating could therefore be completely dispensed with, e.g. the server room also heats the floor of the room above.
In most other rooms, it is sufficient if the night storage heater is set to 1/3 load.
The fan is almost never used. Heating period (mid-November to end of February)
For the attic (2 rooms), an air conditioning system was installed in 2014. Mainly for the cooling function, but it can also sufficiently heat the two rooms. After about 15 minutes, 20 °C is reached, then it runs in automatic mode for about 5 minutes per hour. This heat is not very pleasant, but it is tolerable at work.
My problem now is that the old night storage heaters are gradually giving up the ghost or can no longer be properly controlled and sometimes only know full load or off :-(
I have been dealing with possible heating systems for weeks now and am wavering between air conditioning units for all rooms or infrared wall heaters. I have also considered a natural stone heater.
Who has experience in a comparable situation?
Who has experience with infrared heaters or air conditioning as the sole heating system?
What is your opinion on natural stone heaters?
I hope to support my decision-making process in this way regarding the installation of a new heating system.
