Dear members,
I am concerned with the following question: In my mind, there is the idea of demolishing the old, dilapidated barn on the property and replacing it with a double garage with an attached hobby/workshop/storage room of about 20 sqm. The barn has about 120 sqm of floor space, no foundation, and is dilapidated. The new building is to be solid (the power connection can be tapped from the nearby single-family house, water is not necessary) and will probably need a concrete slab due to the ground conditions. I am concerned about what the project will cost approximately (demolition/planning/construction) and at which point I should start the "planning". It is possible from a building law perspective. Should I first look for a financer with my vague ideas or first a civil engineer to plan the project for me? So many questions....
