Hello everyone,
I am currently planning the construction of a new bungalow using a wooden skeleton structure. For the roof, I am trying to figure out which option would be the most cost-effective. One possibility would be concrete tiles, another sandwich panels. With concrete tiles, I save a lot on the roofing material itself, but I still have to add a membrane, battens, insulation, and a roof frame that is sufficiently tight and load-bearing. With sandwich panels made of metal, the material itself is quite expensive, but the insulation is already included in the form of foam. Additionally, thick sandwich panels have a high free load-bearing capacity, so the roof frame can be built more sparingly, for example without rafters, but only with purlins on which the panels are laid. Can anyone roughly estimate which option would end up being more economical?
Best regards,
Marian
