Hello everyone, I am still undecided whether we should use a conventional or [Nagelplattenbinder] roof truss. Floor area 10m x 9.5m, gable roof. Advantage of conventional: -more space Advantage of [Nagelplattenbinder]: -cheaper -no impact on walls in the upper floor Can anyone share their experience with [Nagelplattenbinder]? The attic is to be used for the ventilation system as well as storage of junk.

Hello hegi, You basically summarized it quite well yourself. I have a roof with nail trusses. With temperature changes (heating, sunlight, cooling) it creaks quite loudly. Otherwise, usage or the wallet should make the decision. My heart beats for conventional, after all, it’s not called that for nothing.

Can you still store things up there? I mean, the dimensions of the items are usually limited by the access hatch. Whether I then have to lift the items through the straps would be relatively irrelevant to me. Can you show a picture of the [Speicher]?
