We are currently facing a similar situation, my mother has to move out of her apartment and we have the opportunity to buy a nice apartment and rent it to her.

I hope you have more than €3500 income and less debt. Otherwise, it would be too risky for me.

The similar situation only referred to the part involving renting to one's own mother.
