Hello everyone,
our floor plan has actually been finalized for quite some time. During the structural calculations, it was noticed that the position of the chimney is unfavorable for the roof construction. It runs exactly through the hip rafters.
I had agreed with the architectural firm to move the chimney half a meter. However, this morning it was apparently noticed that this is not enough and it would need to be moved another 8 cm, since the roofer also needs space for the flashing on the hip rafter (no idea what exactly is meant by that).
As a result, the chimney on the upper floor is now located in the wall between the two children's rooms.
Apart from the chimney in the ground floor shifting further to the right and thus affecting the appearance, are there any disadvantages that arise for us here? For example, noise issues or similar?
(An 11.5 cm sand-lime brick wall is planned as the wall.)
