Hello everyone, especially those who have installed an [WDVS]. We have installed a 16 cm thick [WDVS] on 20 cm calcium silicate brickwork. I am wondering how to best attach outdoor lights and other things like house numbers to the exterior walls. In my opinion, the advantage of [WDVS] anchors is that the cable is less likely to be drilled through, since the typically horizontal path of the cable is visible. But how about the issue of stability? With appropriately long anchors and screws (> 16 cm, about 20 cm), I see more of a risk that I might hit the cable laid in the actual masonry. How have you done it? Best regards

The insulation is already on? If not: I have a similar situation but with 20cm insulation. I will install a device carrier from Kaiser.

Yes, the insulation is already in place. For the outdoor sockets, I also installed the Kaiser telescopic carriers. For the outdoor lights, only the cable ends are hanging out.

I simply screwed insulation anchors into the Styrofoam. Since there isn't much load on the lamp, it holds without any problems.

For lighter items, the dowels are sufficient, but you can't get them out without causing damage. So be sure about the lamp ;) And it probably shouldn't be solid brass :)

I glued the house number (standard adhesive from the building materials range; nothing rocket science). I attached the lights using insulation anchors (available from the market leader whose name starts with F, but AFAIK also alternatively from competitors). That works quite well. The recommendation is probably to seal everything with acrylic along with the anchor and screw to prevent water from running behind. In my opinion, for such light objects, a higher effort is not justified.
