Hello everyone,
I am new here and have a problem with water in the garden.
Our house is about 200 years old, without a basement, and is located in a terrain hollow.
Surrounded only by trees and fields. Isolated location outside of town.
A drainage collector runs past the house, which was installed more than 40 years ago as part of land consolidation.
It is now leaking in many places, and you can see water bubbling from the ground or the soil above collapsing.
The municipality says "too expensive, we won't do anything."
The water management office also explains that surface water could be another cause if there are now frequent flooding situations.
What to do?
Last year, a foundation of the terrace roof was already undermined. It has sunk, and we had to renew it.
Will the whole house eventually collapse?
The soil here is very sandy.
We are considering whether to install a drainage around the house or dig trenches.
Or something entirely different?
I would be very grateful for tips and experiences.
Also regarding dealing with and experiences with offices and authorities.
Best regards, staengler
