Hello everyone!

We still need to tell the electrician which [Zählerschrank] we would like. For that, he also needs to know how many meter slots are required there.
The power supplier told us that to be future-proof, we should plan for 4 slots.
We are getting a heat pump (which we want to operate without its own meter), photovoltaic is being prepared, and an electric car is currently not an issue, but we are having electricity installed in one spot in the garage in case it ever becomes necessary.

Should we really plan for 4 slots then? How have you handled this?

In this case, 4 spaces are absolutely recommended!!

1 space should always be considered as a reserve, 1 space is mandatory, and if photovoltaics are installed, then 2 spaces are mandatory. Therefore, 4 spaces are good!!

4 meter slots in the single-family house... Now that’s a statement. 4x basic fee of course also in case of emergency.

I would understand if you were advised to reserve the second slot for the heat pump, because who knows how prices and subsidies will develop. But I don’t think it will be in a direction that really benefits the end customers.

But what advice can be given to you as an outsider now?

We had two meter slots for household and heat pump. One has been removed in the meantime due to photovoltaics.

There is also quite a surcharge for the distribution box,

We also found that quite intense just now. Of course, the distribution box is more expensive and - in extreme cases - the basic fees also apply. But if a space is missing, one usually doesn't like to start upgrading right away (is that even possible?)

And as Tom writes (who is obviously an expert ) that it is recommended... oh.. I don’t really know anymore

The offer from the electrician is still missing regarding the price difference of the cabinets and then a decision will have to be made so that things finally move forward!

Either mine just wants to earn money, but he only wants a 1300 euro surcharge for two seats
