Hello everyone

sorry, I'm not sure if this is the right topic here but I didn't find a more suitable category.

We are in the final stages of our construction project. The prominently visible staircase railing has just been installed. I'm somehow not happy with the look, the welds don't look very nice. What do you think about it? Am I being too picky? Or is this normal/good work? What would you do?

Thanks for your opinions!

The neckline couldn’t be any smaller, right? Jokes aside, maybe add a larger neckline as well so it can be better assessed.

Sorry, I don’t have a better photo right now except this one. I’m interested in the detail of the seams in the first picture, that's why the close-up.

It has discoloration, but the weld looks good, doesn’t it? What bothers you? That only a small part was welded and not the entire strut? That’s not necessary, it holds as it is.

Discoloration occurs during welding, it can be removed. Pickling, grinding, brushing, sandblasting, coating, etc.

The question is, what was agreed upon...

PS: The scratches would bother me more. Did the metalworker forget to have his calming drink before tightening the screws?

Hi, the welds are already okay, of course, they could have been nicely sanded, but you would have had to arrange that as well. However, the scratches and the chipped paint around the screws are not acceptable at all. I hope you didn't accept it like that. Best regards, Andreas

Thank you, you reassure me a bit! Fortunately, the scratches are just dust and I will address the screws.
