Medium-term conversion from gas heating to heat pump heating?

As some of you already know, we are currently building a house with a gas condensing boiler and solar energy on the roof. So, what (as far as I know) has so far been the legal minimum (construction site Saxony). Due to the current developments and possibly an increase in the resale value of our house, I would like to know what we already need to consider now if the gas heating system later has to/wants to be switched to a heat pump heating system, hydrogen heating, or similar. We have underfloor heating and are installing tiles throughout the entire house.

For the time being, we will stick with the gas condensing boiler and solar energy, but we would like to prepare technically for an alternative. ("Photovoltaic is being prepared," although that might just be a conduit. I do not know the details.)

For the heat pump, the underfloor heating with a close pipe spacing. You can't switch directly yet? Solar and gas gone and replaced by a heat pump? A heating system is normally a decision for 20 years and not mid-term.

Hi, I would also consider a direct switch (even before now). Leave out [Solarthermie] and directly cover it well with [Photovoltaik]. Then install an efficient air heat pump (or ground source heat pump). Honestly, I wouldn’t rely on gas anymore. My recommendation.

1. Have laying distances made suitable for heat pumps ==> max. 10cm (this does not harm the gas heating system in terms of consumption values either) 2. Consider switching directly to a heat pump

The most important thing is the underfloor heating, which can no longer be changed. If necessary, have it calculated externally, adjusted to the room-specific heating load. Specify the desired max. supply temperature for this, observe the maximum length of the heating circuits as well as the different lengths of the heating circuits. No 14/2 pipe, better 17/2. Dimension the connection pipe generously (will also be calculated).

even though I am a big fan of gas heating systems, after the events of the past few weeks, I would switch quickly if possible. If you then don’t need [Solarthermie] and the costs for the gas connection and chimney are eliminated, hopefully the additional costs won’t be that severe.

It is foreseeable that gas prices will now completely collapse. Currently, the wholesale price for a megawatt hour is around €300. That’s 30 cents per kWh!!! I’m curious how long my municipal utilities will continue to sell it to me for 7 cents per kWh...

If you are already too far along in construction and switching now would cause a construction stop, I can agree with the previous speakers.

- room-by-room heat load calculation
- design pipe spacing for low flow temperatures
- increase water storage. Heat pumps usually work with 300 liters or more, gas heating systems only with 150 liters.
