Only in cases of fraudulent misrepresentation, (otherwise bought as seen.)

If the house has been comprehensively gutted and renovated, the year of renovation is usually given as the year of construction. However, it must be a genuine gut renovation and not what many commonly refer to as such (meaning extensive cosmetic repairs).
