Hello,

since my wife and I will soon be owners of a house and want to do a lot ourselves, we came across a plumber through an acquaintance who sells the installation for self-installation.
It works as follows: he delivers the material for a sum X, you get everything you need provided, and an instruction.
You do the installation yourself.
When everything is finished, he comes out, takes a look, and performs the required inspections.
If everything is OK, he then orders the water meter.

The reason my wife and I are considering this is that you can save one or two euros that way.

What do you think about it?

Hi! So, I also installed the water pipes myself... You should at least have seen how it's done... Because soldering is a tricky thing... If you do it wrong, you'll have wet walls later ;)

How much would that cost from him?

Don't you have a friend or acquaintance who could do it for you on a friendship basis?

Hey TimoWiesbaden,

so the cost should be around 2000 including the water meter application and everything I need roughly.
So the pipe system will be a multilayer composite pipe, it must be plastic which is hard to get as a layman.
He will then show me how it works and I will do the work.

Hi
Corresponding pipes and fittings have been available online for years, google is your friend. Pay attention to DVGW approval or the corresponding certificate from the EU manufacturer country.
You should only do it yourself if you at least have a rough idea of the subject. Otherwise, the cost advantage is quickly lost due to costly repairs of the concealed pipes, not to mention consequential damages. The installer can no longer inspect all components and connections thoroughly and find hidden errors. And an initial leak test says little about what will happen in five years.

I have installed three bathrooms myself with plastic pipes and screw fittings, but I also learned a trade that includes tight pipe connections, among other things.
