You can of course google it, and I have done so, but to be honest, I find Erfahrungswerte von Nutzern, die das eine oder andere dieser Mittel verwendet haben much more helpful.

Okay, I can well understand that. NASA will hardly be able to provide that. By the way, Ballistol was only available for dog paws here.

Hi, I recently sprayed our large terrace sliding door (approx. 2x2m) with silicone spray (not silicone oil!). It now slides really smoothly. No idea how long it will last. But it was about 3-4 weeks ago and so far no deterioration noticeable.

The stuff costs nothing and you don’t mess everything up because no oil film or similar remains.

I have to improve myself, I meant carbon-based oil. Silicone spray is silicone oil

I’ve tried it now with WD40, it’s slippery, let’s see how long it lasts.

Maybe try PTFE spray sometime. I can recommend the one from SONAX.
