Hello dear forum community,

who has experience with a Mahonia hedge? It is supposedly low-maintenance and does not require pruning.

Is that really true?

We need about 60 m of hedge. It should be low-maintenance and not need to be cut too often.

I am also open to other suggestions. ;)

Best regards, Eve

Mahonia? ...I just had to google it ;) They bear fruit! Find out whether birds eat these berries – then you might always have blue stains on the terrace

Right. I haven't thought about that until now.

I need to ask about that. Thanks for the tip! :)

I have now looked it up. The fruits serve as bird food only in winter. In spring and summer, [Mahonien] are bee pastures.

I would like to place this hedge about 35 m from the terrace as a boundary to the street.

However, blue spots on the terrace are not something I find appealing!
