Loud cracking in the evening. What is the cause?

We had two days of heavy rain over the weekend, but the cracking still occurred there. However, it wasn’t particularly cool. In the attic, we have a large triangular window. So I will stake out there this evening. Additionally, I will turn off all the fuses. See you this evening.

The temperatures are going down at the same time right now. So shortly before or shortly after, there is a drop that makes the windows or beams creak. That's how I imagine it.

Checked the heat pump to see if anything was turning on or off at that time?

It is actually the roof. The cracking came punctually like the bricklayers. We were still sitting at the neighbors and talked about it. At their place, the noise comes about half an hour later. Since the attic is not developed, it is not that loud. For us, everything is open upwards. I would not have believed it.

With us, the wooden podium stairs snap brutally loud, mostly when it gets warmer. Annoying but that's how it is.

Well, somehow many people have that, for us it is around 8 p.m. on the terrace side and around 10 p.m. near the front door. Just as the sun moves.

The front door is made of wood.

The terrace door is made of aluminum.

Both in anthracite.
