Great - thank you all very much! There are quite a few very nice things in there. I had now read that it is probably Muschelkalk :) I will write to a few manufacturers.

There are many natural stones today that, like so many things, mostly come from Asia. Therefore, it is very difficult to determine what material it actually is.

Much comes from China, India, Armenia, Turkmenistan. But even European quarries ship the blocks to China for processing, where they are cut and refined and then come back here.

Otherwise, a little tip on the side.

The hotspot for natural stone, marble, etc. is located in the Upper Italian Stant Ambrogio die Valpolicella, at Lake Garda.
There, among other things, the famous Rosso Verona is mined. A large part of the Italian natural stone industry is quite concentrated there. Stone blocks and slabs from Asia also arrive there and are distributed for the European market.

In addition, there is a very famous and well-known school for stonemasons in the town.

Furthermore, there are countless companies that also process raw material here. There you will see things you will never see again.

So if you need any information, want to see samples of what exists in the world, then I would recommend taking a short trip to Lake Garda. You can already see the industrial areas on Google Maps. Many things simply do not go online.
These are all long-established craft businesses.

Above all, you might get the most extraordinary stone products there at the best prices directly from the factory. Transportation is no problem. There are several German carriers who drive down daily and specialize only in marble, natural stone, and tiles.

But as I said, an absolute insider tip. Psst.
