Hello!

We are currently planning our new build and are now, of course, also thinking about the different floor coverings.

I am still looking for the suitable covering for the bedroom, office, and children's room and came across linoleum parquet during my search. I have to say that we have 2 dogs and it is also important to me that the floor can be cleaned well and is not too sensitive, and above all that no mites, bacteria, etc. can settle in it. Tiles would, of course, be a good choice here but they are too cold for me, especially for the children's room.

As I said, the manufacturers' descriptions sound very good. But has anyone already had experience with it?

Best regards

Hello mandler, Linoleum would be a good choice, it is durable, almost indestructible, available in various surface designs. We ourselves had linoleum installed in the floorboard area, solid black; due to the slight gloss of the surface, it does not appear dark. With solid-colored linoleum, you should keep in mind that scratches (e.g. from dog brake marks, small stones in shoe soles, sand from children's shoes) are visible, but not permanent. In general, linoleum is resistant to mechanical and chemical stresses, so deformations such as pressure marks recede after some time. Linoleum is antistatic, slightly fungicidal, and inhibits bacterial growth. Nowadays, it is maintained with normal alkali-free cleaning agents, wiped with a damp cloth using lukewarm water, and wax-containing care products are used occasionally.

I can only share my experiences now. I have also had linoleum installed and I have to say, I like it. I was initially worried about the cleanliness, but that is no problem either. There are good cleaning agents that are not aggressive and they make everything clean.

We have linoleum in the kitchen and can also confirm that it is very durable. Especially in the kitchen, a lot is done and the level of dirt is quite high. But so far I have been able to remove everything.

Unfortunately, I'm not really into linoleum. For me, that's PVC, and I don't really want that in my house. I'd rather have parquet or laminate.

But if there are dogs in the household, then parquet as well as laminate is completely unsuitable. Or there is a lot of time to sand down and reseal the scratches from the dogs on the parquet. The laminate then looks ugly after a short time.

So PVC flooring is definitely the best covering in this case.
