Long-term experiences with Poroton T8?

we want to build our single-family house soon and are currently pondering the right brick. A friend who is a mason recommended the Poroton T8 to us. Has anyone already had experience with this brick? How satisfied are you with the insulation effect, stability, and soundproofing?

The Poroton T8 is naturally sufficiently stable; otherwise, this brick would not be sold as a masonry brick. The insulation effect is also sufficiently good; one must be aware of which building physics requirements are preferred for exterior walls. The better the soundproofing of an exterior wall, the worse the insulation effect - and vice versa. If you want both, good soundproofing with good thermal insulation, it is best to choose a solid masonry brick in combination with a [Wärmedämmverbundsystem]. However, since not everyone wants an insulated exterior shell on their house, the T8 would be a good compromise.

Yes, this Poroton T8 is really good and is often used. The thermal insulation is sufficient and the soundproofing is also good. This brick is simply recommendable.

I have also worked with Poroton T8 and I like the building material. For me, it is the perfect brick and in the future I would not work with anything else.

I'm not quite that enthusiastic, because this building material leaves much to be desired in terms of sound insulation. But otherwise, it is easy to work with and the insulation is also okay.

I see this a bit more relaxed than Kurt, for me this sound insulation is sufficient. I have had very good experiences with Poroton T8 and it is a good building material. For me, thermal insulation is crucial and that is provided.
