Loan for house purchase - experiences?

I have in any case immediately terminated my recently completed construction financing, voluntarily paid a prepayment penalty of 20,000 euros, and arranged a new financing there at a sensational 8.9% p.a. The processing fee is reasonable, only the credit insurance is relatively expensive. But I think a decent five-figure amount is worth this protection against unemployment lasting more than a year.
